- Excellent fit due to the new X-Dial SLW3 fastening mechanism.
- The NRG Air Carbon sole offers both comfort and good power transfer.
- The AirFlow system provides an ideal airflow along the bottom of the shoe.
- Thanks to the Unibody construction, there are no pressure points on the foot.
- The ventilation holes across the shoe ensure good breathability.
- With a full carbon sole, the power transfer to the pedals is even better than with this sole.

Technology
X-Dial SLW3 fastening mechanismThe Northwave Core Plus 2 features the new X-Dial SLW3 fastening mechanism, which makes the shoe fit better and feel more comfortable during cycling. The dial is located on the side of the shoe and can be used to prevent a fit that is too tight and/or pressure points on top of the foot. It also creates a very sleek and modern look.
NRG Air Carbon sole, suitable for both SPD-SL and SPD cleats
The sole of the Northwave Core Plus 2 is made of nylon, glass fibre and carbon. These materials make the sole comfortable and very sturdy. Optimal airflow along the bottom of the shoe is achieved by means of the AirFlow system. The sole is suitable for SPD-SL cleats and can also be converted to fit SPD cleats via an adapter. This Northwave adapter is not included with the shoes and is not available at Mantel at the moment.
Unibody construction
The Northwave Core Plus 2 has a Unibody construction, which eliminates pressure points on top of the foot. The 5 vents on the bottom of the Core Plus 2 provide additional ventilation and comfort. Also, there are tiny ventilation holes across the entire outer surface of the shoe, which makes it very breathable.
User tips
Detailed explanation of sizing in mmTo help you choose the right size shoe we have measured all shoes ourselves. All that's left for you to do is measure your own foot length, and we'll tell you which shoe size suits you best for each brand. If your foot length in mm does not appear on the shoe's product page, that means the shoe in question is not available in a size that suits your foot length.
You can easily measure your foot length using an A4 sheet of paper, placed on the floor against a wall. Stand with one foot on the piece of paper, with your heel against the wall. Draw a line above your big toe (or above the index toe if that is longer). Now mark your other foot on the paper in the same way. Measure both - the measurement of your longest foot is your foot length in mm's! Please note: some manufacturers have their own measuring system, and therefore, what is stated on the shoebox can deviate from what we have measured.
The shoe size you need can differ per brand. This is because certain brands run larger or smaller. To help you get the perfect fit, we've also classified the shoes as narrow, average, or wide fit. Read all about it in our blog!

Perfect for wider feet, good value for money
In my old Shimano racing shoes I often got trouble on longer tours because my feet are a bit wider, this problem has been solved with Northwave. They are fine and so far I feel I am much better in my shoes. I also have Northwave for my mountain bike and it is a breath of fresh air! Very good and nice shoe.
